I often wonder, if we weren’t assumed to be straight, assumed to be cis, assumed to be anything from the beginning, or we were taught while we were younger that there wasn’t this one only way to identify, to love, and to feel, how that could have changed absolutely everything. I wonder, if someone had reached out, and said “hey you’re not alone, this feeling of uncertainty, and self hate is real. You aren’t alone and you don’t need to google this in the dark in your room behind locked doors.” If resources were given, the changes of us feeling like our sexuality, our gender identity, and/or our body was a curse or burden, would be slim to none. I used to pretend I was a cis straight woman but the reality of it, is that I am not. This is who I am, who we are, who I’ve always been, who we’ve always been, and who I’ll always be, you’ll always be. Our identities are important and our voices need to be heard.
